2. There’s considerable variance in the reliability and quality of the world’s postal services, so outside the United States your letters may take 2-5 weeks to arrive, depending on your country.

As of this writing, our letters use the 1916 translation by Dr. Richard Gummere of Haverford College, which we think perfectly balances the eloquence of historic language and the precision-of-language and accessibility of modern translation.

So, for example, if you joined on August 12th, letters would begin to reach you in early September.

For Those Of You Outside the US: The world’s postal services vary in speed and reliability, so the date that your first letter arrives will depend upon your local carrier, but expect it to take at least 1-2 weeks longer.

We mail weekly, so once your letters begin, they should continue to arrive at a regular cadence.
